Progress Continues on the Old Barn.

The barn is slowly coming to life! I enlisted the help of my nephew Kai to help get this barn into some sort of shape. He made remarkable strides by clearing out a formidable mountain of trash that once overran the space. Next on his agenda? Demolishing that old plywood dangling from the ceiling—an essential step in transforming the barn into something truly special.

This endeavor requires not just energy but a clear vision. I dream of a bright, airy studio where sunlight streams in, illuminating every corner with warmth and creativity. With that vision guiding my design, I realized some serious work needed to be done on the windows. Yet, as with any project, budget constraints loom large. To satisfy my upscale taste while remaining financially savvy, I decided to extend the existing windows in length instead of moving and replacing them entirely.

To bring this plan to fruition, I enlisted a young man whom I taught in pottery class a decade ago. It’s both nostalgic and exciting to reconnect and collaborate on this project, breathing new life into the barn, one thoughtful decision at a time. Lots of work left to do but even the small things seem like tremendous strides.
